In this article a new method is introduced for the automatic estimation of all relevant parameters oil storage tanks using single high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image. For given tank, will estimate its maximum capacity and determine whether it has fixed or floating roof. with roof, amount stored also be estimated. If SAR time series available images can processed jointly, exploiting temporal information to provide more accurate robust estimates than those obtained from each individual The dimensions tank are derived semicircular double reflections, which detected coherent scatterers in classification between roofs performed simple machine learning classifier just three features related reflections. performance proposed image evaluated TerraSAR-X port Rotterdam, containing 167 different sizes, both roofs.
